The Pathology Core Facilities sells services from its three units to internal and external customers. Please refer below for a general overview of the types of services each unit provides.

-Preparation of tissue slides for analysis and for confirming diagnosis of pathologic conditions
-Standard H&E staining and specific tissue staining
-Provision of wax embedded sections or frozen sections for histochemistry and immunohistochemistry results
-Preparation of tissue microarrays (TMAs) which allow for the efficient analysis of tissues from many samples
-Immunostaining on single tissue sections or TMAs
-Use of standard immunostains, other commercially available antibodies, or those uniquely developed by investigators
-Avidin-biotin-peroxidase or avidin-biotin-alkaline phosphatase detection
-In situ hybridization, including Her-2 analysis and detection of aneuploidy in bladder cancer and detection of genetic aberrations through DNA FISH
-Other hybridization analysis on request
Molecular Analysis and Extraction
-DNA and RNA extraction for correlative analysis
-DNA and RNA extraction for biobanking
